Hair Rx

This Issues Professional:

Darin , a stylist at Bumble and bumble Downtown Salon in New York City's Meatpacking District.

Q:Lately I've been getting headaches, and I think it's the weight of my ponytail. Is there a way to thin my hair without cutting off inches?

A: Well, my first piece of advice is to stop wearing a ponytail so much. I'm guessing that you have very dense, heavy, all-one-length hair. You can either get your hair layered or have weight removed. Layering will give your hair a different shape, so if you don't want that, your stylist can reduce the weight by using a razor to cut out density. Then if you continue to get headaches, it's time to get rid of some length.
